What a cage jacket is for
A cage jacket, sometimes called a batting jacket, is a lightweight pullover worn for batting practice, warm-ups and between innings on cold days. It keeps the throwing arm warm without the bulk of a full jacket, which is why pitchers and catchers wear them more than anyone.
